Nicolas and Sandra Ferguson Endowed Scholarship

Nick and Sandy Ferguson grew up in the Jurupa Valley area in the early 60s. After graduating from Rubidoux High School in 1964 (Nick) and 1965 (Sandy), they attended RCC and later transferred to Cal Poly Pomona. Both Nick and Sandy dreamed of becoming teachers. Upon earning their teaching credentials, they began their careers in the classrooms of Jurupa Unified School District. After a few years of teaching Nick became a school site administrator in multiple school districts throughout the state of California. After teaching for 12 years, Sandy also entered the administrative arena, serving as a principal or assistant principal at various schools throughout California.

Student must be a continuing or transferring Riverside City College student in good standing.
Student must have a mininmm cumulative grade point average of 3,0.
Student must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
Students’ scholarship application responses must evidence their intention to pursue a career as a K-12 classroom teacher.
