Major Charles Sherman Hoyt Memorial Scholarship

Charles Sherman Hoyt graduated from RCC in 1930 before attending West Point Naval Academy. While on duty in the Philippines, he was imprisoned and lost on a Japanese prison ship in Subic Bay in 1945. The Major Charles Sherman Hoyt Memorial Scholarship was established by his family to assist a second year student with a minimum 3.25 GPA who will be transferring to the University of California, Riverside. This scholarship is based on academic standing, leadership and financial need.
