Gary Semonella Memorial Endowed Osher Scholarship

Gary Semonella served Riverside City College for 37 years where he was most remembered for his service to the RCC Forensics program and his presidency of the Academic Senate. For Gary, it was his service to students that mattered most. He was a teacher, mentor, coach and a friend, known and respected for his high expectations. Gary and his wife, Joan, also an emeritus faculty member, initially established the Gary Semonella Scholarship prior to his passing in March 2011 to support students who share Gary’s passion for learning. The Gary Semonella Memorial Endowed Osher Scholarship is awarded to a full-time Riverside City College student with financial need who is the first in their family to attend college, and has completed 24 units with a 3.2 GPA or higher.
